Citizens First Bank is sponsoring the 2011 Thunderfest.  The 40th Annual Thunderfest will take place at the amphitheater located at the National Corvette Museum on Friday, July 1st.

Music, tethered balloon rides, children's activities, and a large fireworks extravaganza highlight the Thunderfest Independence Day Celebration,.  The gates open at 3:00 pm and activities begin at 5 pm.  Children's attractions, music, food vendors, and other entertainment are available until about 9:15 pm, when the fireworks show begins.  Admission is $5 per person or $15 per carload.

The Kiwanis of Bowling Green has staged the event for the past 36 years as a fund-raiser for more than 30 children's organizations in Bowling Green and south central Kentucky. Last year, Thunderfest raised more than $20,000 for local organizations serving children and their families.

The entire Kiwanis Club could not be more pleased with the community support for Thunderfest and we are very grateful to Citizens First for sponsoring this year's event!  This support in combination with the hard work of the Kiwanis members and local volunteers will prove to make this years event the most magnificent yet. This type of collaboration among the business and civic community is what makes south central Kentucky such a great place to live and more specifically, is what has made the fireworks event such a success for the past three decades.
